More civilians in Timika arrested by Indonesian authority after the shooting incidents near the Freeport mine site last week.

On Tuesday afternoon police's special antiterror unit Detachment 88 have arrested three adult men and three teenagers. Police also seized arrows, axes, and machettes.

A resident of Kwamki Baru, Yohanes said “I didn't dare to sleep on Monday night, I'm affraid there would be people knocking at the door and suddenly arrest me.” The series of arrest on Timika residents began on Monday which some, according to residents were not warranted.

Papua police refused to comment on the report.

The arrest came a week after a series of shootings at the Freeport mine site killed two Indonesian security apparatus and one Australian engineer.
